MONTHLY & ANNUAL INSPECTIONS

The National Fire Protection Association, FDNY, & NYC Department of Buildings has specific requirements for what equipment needs to be inspected or tested and how often. The following is a list of what is done during an inspection for a typical wet or dry pipe fire sprinkler system.

"Standard Inspection"

•Inspect valves

•Inspect all gauges

•Inspect water flow alarm and alarm
devices

•Inspect FDNY connections

•Inspect pressure reducing and relief valves

"Annual Inspection"

Everything stated above including the following:

•Inspect all sprinkler heads, pipes, and fittings

•Conduct a water flow test

•Inspect interior of the dry pipe valves if applicable
